Bats prefer dark, quiet places where they can avoid intruders and the weather. Barns, storage sheds, and attics are perfect places for bats to live.

The biggest problem with bats, other than their "creepiness", is their droppings. Known as guano, contact with bat droppings should be avoided as they are known to carry a fungus that can cause histoplasmosis.
