In the U.S., the populations of feral cats is estimated to number in the 100 millions and growing. These cats are known to hunt and kill native wildlife, as well as other domestic animals.

Feral cats are also know to transmit rabies, toxoplasmosis, typhus, plague and other viral and parasitic diseases to both humans and other animals.
